Matthew. Copenhagen Photographer
Matthew is an award-winning British photojournalist based in Copenhagen, Denmark. He studied press photography and photojournalism in Sheffield and immediately went on to work for the Derby Telegraph and Derbyshire Magazine, where he remained for three years. And it was during this time that Matthew built a portfolio of wide-ranging images, including hard-hitting news stories, red carpet events, sporting fixtures and corporate features.
After a brief stint living in Australia, Matthew moved to Denmark in 2012 and set up his own freelance photography business. His first big break came when he was approached by Nike, and a career as a sports photographer began. This led to assignments with other large brands and household names, such as Adidas, Condé Nast, The Guardian and National Geographic Traveller.
When not pursuing photography assignments, Matthew can be found swimming in the harbours of Copenhagen or performing with his band in the city’s rock venues. His devotion to learning and his passion for meeting new people are elements that are expressed in both his personal life and throughout his photography.
